This spring type binding post conforms to the dimensional and performance requirements set forth in MIL-P-55149/9 and on MIL-P-55149/7. This assembly is available in both waterproof and non-waterproof designs. The insulated cap in conjunction with a hard metal gripper and a high force spring insures a resilient and durable electrical connection under the most adverse conditions. The cap is nylon. The body is brass nickel plated and the "O" ring (when required) is silicone rubber.
Reliable electrical contact is obtained by positive parallel clamping with no shearing, kinking or damage to wire. The milled contact surfaces extend full width of post, greatly increasing contact area. The cap is non-removable and the knurled base prevents the binding post from turning when mounted; also supplied with locking dowel.
All metal parts are brass nickel plated except the dowel pin which is beryllium copper, where specified.
